Well, it's amazing what a change of plan can do for you!  I've had 2 days of hammering away at YoYoYo, and I've added the first "authentic" enemy to the game.  You won't see it in the finished title until you can get in to Fort Spon - it's a giant robot sentry.  If you smack him with your yoyo he'll lob granades at you and they take chunks out of your health, which is shown on the handy-dandy new comic-strip style HUD:

Living_Room-15

Here he is strolling about on Westlake Avenue, minding his own business.  Since he's a sentry robot he's not massively mobile and can't climb steps or jump about like the police can, but if you start giving him hassle...

BLAMMO!  His infra-red AngryVision is activated and he lobs grenades at you!  His AngryVision will follow you around nicely, and if you manage to bosh him a few more times he will literally fall appart and die.  The "collapse" animation needs a little more work but what we've got right now is fine for this stage of development.  I'm about to add some code to stop you just walking past him (although you can just about jump over him) and I'm thinking about if I should allow you to stand on his head.  That'll be basically the same logic as standing on a moving platform (or the subway trains - did I mention that all 8 stations are in now and you can travel between them all?) so it won't be too much of a hassle.  Mr Sentry will be used heavily in the Fort Spon level.  Fort Spon is a military base, where dozens of droids have escaped from a research lab and must be vanquished.  If you clobber them all then you get a high-powered yoyo and a hatfull of cash.

So there we go - progress isbeing made.  I was up until 5am working on the droids but it was well worth it.  Next up are some hoodlums and ne'er-do-wells who need some bashing and boffing.  That'll give you the chance to grab their spraypaint cans and use them as jetpacks...yummy!

Anyway must dash, I got code to write!  Pip pip!
